Yes — completely free! Every tool on IITM Helper, including the GPA calculator, AI assistant, StudyPlus YT, study timer, and course guides, is available at no cost. This is a student-built platform made to help the IITM BS community thrive.
No. IITM Helper is an independent, student-built project and is NOT officially affiliated with or endorsed by IIT Madras. We simply aim to make the lives of IITM BS students easier by aggregating useful tools and resources in one place.
StudyPlus YT is a full-stack Progressive Web App built on top of YouTube. It removes distractions, lets you organise playlists as courses, bookmark timestamps, take notes directly inside the player, and tracks your watch progress so you can always "continue where you left off." It also offers AI-generated video summaries.
The GPA calculator uses the exact grading scheme prescribed by the IITM BS program (S=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, E=4). It supports both semester GPA and CGPA calculation across multiple terms, including weighted credit averaging — the same method used by the official student portal.
Absolutely. The entire website is fully mobile-responsive. StudyPlus YT is also a PWA (Progressive Web App), meaning you can install it on your Android or iOS home screen for a near-native app experience — with offline support for previously loaded content.
